Focusing on perovskite module R&D and mass production
Founded on December 24, 2019, Kunshan GCL Optoelectronic Materials Co. Ltd. is co-invested by GCL, Tencent, Temasek, Sequoia and IDG. The company's core R&D team has been cultivating large-size perovskite photovoltaic technology for more than 10 years, and has been a long-term leader in the global perovskite technology field in three core dimensions─size, conversion efficiency, and stability. The company's first gigawatt-scale perovskite commercial module project will be completed by the end of 2024, when the company will face the global market with 2.88 ㎡ (1.2m×2.4m) of tandem perovskite modules with a conversion efficiency of 27%.
In March, 2024, the conversion efficiency of our 1M × 2M perovskite single-junction reached 19.04%, the highest in the world in terms of conversion efficiency and size, and in May, it was certified by TÜV Rhein IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 in terms of reliability.
Also in April, our tandem perovskite module reached the target of 1.71㎡area and 26.36% efficiency, certified by the Chinese Academy of Metrology. In June, our 2,050 cm²tandem module set a new record of efficiency—27.34%.The next step is that the company will launch 2.88㎡tandem perovskite modules with 27% conversion efficiency for the global market from 2025.
